"Closed Beta" ending..."Open Beta" beginning!

Howdy, Gaians!

We've been working hard "behind the curtain" to get zOMG! ready for you all, and now is the time where we finally have to open the curtain and let you all play.

Is the game done yet? No...not quite. But we can't finish it unless we ask a bunch of you to play it for a while so we can shake out all the issues that arise due to load and random gameplay situations.

So, we're opening the gates and starting to let people in on Monday, October 27th!

The folks with Head Start tickets will get to play for a couple days first, and then we'll be letting in waves of "veterans" from the community after that, starting with the 5-year vets, then the 4-year vets, and so on until *everyone* has the opportunity to play.

We're really looking forward to this. "Closed" Beta was a blast and we can't wait to let you see what we've been crafting behind closed doors all this time.

We'll get it all polished up and shiny in "Open Beta" and then we'll announce the game to the world. So for now...it's a happy Gaia playground. Enjoy!

See you all, starting on Monday!

zOMG! is Almost Here!

zOMG!, our long-awaited MMO, is almost ready for action! Over the coming days, we'll be gradually starting up our open beta phase -- all Gaia members will be able to fight bizarre monsters, explore strange new lands and experience Gaia in a whole new way.

On October 27th, Gaians who managed to snag a zOMG! Head Start Ticket will have an exclusive chance to play the game before anyone else.

We'll gradually start letting more people in, based on how long they've been on the site: four-year old members, three-year, then two-year, then one-year, then everybody.

We've set up an info post with all the info about the zOMG! launch -- check it often, because we'll update it frequently with the latest news: Get the Info

Open Beta Begins!

Howdy there, Gaians,

Open Beta has begun! Today (10/27/08), the "Head Start" ticket holders have the honor of being the first ones to enter zOMG! on the Live servers, getting to save their progress from here on out.

We'll be adding lots more people, in successive waves, via the "veterans" program that you've seen covered in the zOMG! announcement.

And, not too far from now, everyone on the site will be able to play at any time they desire!

How long will "Open Beta" last? To be honest...we don't know. It will depend on how long it takes to reach stability with many, many thousands of people on the servers at the same time, while we also continue to kill off bugs that we find.

But it should be a fun ride...and every day that goes by will result in a tighter and tighter game that Gaians can be proud to call their own.

See you in-game!

zOMG! is Here! Official Info Post

The long wait for zOMG! is up: soon, you'll be beating up monsters and experiencing the Gaia world in a whole new way. We've started the open beta phase of the game, meaning we've still got a lot of work to do, but it's time to let every Gaian jump in and play.

To make the launch as smooth as possible, we'll be letting different groups of users in gradually over the coming days.

So far, the groups admitted were the Head Start ticket holders, and the 3-year (or older) Gaian veterans.

Today, we're allowing everyone that has a registration date of 2006 or older into the game (2-year vets and older). More waves will be coming thereafter, until finally, everyone gets in!

Please bookmark this announcement for all the latest updates on the zOMG! launch! We'll be updating it regularly with new developments, so check back often.

See you in the game,

-The Gaia Team
